    Hi all,
latest version of Parallels in Mac Osx. Guest system WinXP pro as virtual machine.

Networked with a linux Nas and a desktop pc running win-XP pro.

    Virtual XP machine CAN access
    1) Mac system
    2) internet

with the virtual win-xp machine, I CAN"T access the network shares that are on the NAS or the PC running win XP.

MAC CAN access NAS and Win XP desktop machine.

Virtual machine CAN ping NAS and Desktop PC/XP-Pro.

Have ensured NO firewall(!) running on XP desktop machine. Obviously file sharing is active (MAC can get there)

All Part of same work group :- mshome.
In MAC OSX System - both Parallels shared network adapter and host only adapter are "connected"
Virtual machine configuration in Parallels has "Shared networking" selected/enabled and connected.

What have I done wrong :-(

Should I reinstall Parallels and see what happens? (I assume my virtual machine will be 'safe' if I do this)

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Try using the brdiged networking mode -- Configure on virtual machine window -> Network adapter 1 -> Bridged mode, default adapter.

    Me too

I had the same problem, and using the bridged method worked for me as well. I'm grateful as all get-out.
