I am running on two machines 4.0.3844, both running Snow Leopard.

Automatic update check tells me about 4.0.3846 so I tell it to update. It downloads and initiates the installer. Right after I click 'Continue' when it informs me that it's going to check the hard drive for installed program, the installer just quits / crashes out with no dialogs.

If you tail the syslog while running the installer until it crashes, the following lines are generated:

    Sep 8 12:48:52 cnc-4-68 SecurityAgent[8915]: system.privilege.admin|2009-09-08 12:48:52 -0700

    Anyone have this same issue?

Yeah I've got the same thing. Crashes on the next step after the agree/disagree to participate in the customer feedback thing... doesn't matter on my answer to that question either!

drmexico: FYI, I figured out the issue. Mount the automatically downloaded updater (dmg file, most likely in your ~/Downloads directory). Then run the installer manually. It worked for me when I did it that way.
