Initially I was running in non boot camp mode. When I tried bootcamp mode and used Parallels to run the bootcamp image it worked.

However, I noticed that the bootcamp image needs a password to mount and dismount. Worse still the performance of starting up and shutting down seems much worse than just non boot camp setup.

Anybody noticed this? Its irritating me enough to consider scrapping bootcamp and use normal mode.

OSX requires a password to unmount a drive and the Boot Camp partition must be unmounted to use it!

As for speed, once the drive is unmounted, I notice no difference between Parallels with Boot Camp and a normal XP VM drive.

True .. but the long time to mount, boot, dismount is very irritating .. takes much longer than the non boot camp method .. enough to not treat is as something to call up on demand.
