I have installed Parallels 5 (9220) yesterday, and use it with Windows 7 in full screen mode (no coherence, no boot camp) on a MacBook Pro 17. Nearly everything works OK, however there is one a bit annoying issue: Every few minutes the screen gets black for a second or two and then the whole screen is redrawn (i.e. the app windows are visibly refreshed). Everything continues to work, but this bug is a bit annoying since it randomly appears without warning... Has anyone seen this, and if yes, found out how to avoid it? Greetings, -- Robert
Latest 17" MBP - same issue with W7 and aero... I was a beta tester and reported this error to them during trials. Unfortunately, does not appear to have been fixed. Fusion has aero but is much slower than Parallels but does not suffer this problem. Tried switching between the different GPUs in the MBP but same issue occurs. Eventually, the VM session aborts on aero and permanently displays non-aero windows. You have to go through the "fix aero" to bring it back. Have noticed the blackouts in co-herence mode as well (windows go black and are redrawn). Also when in co-herence mode with Aero, the primary window appears to be placed over a grey backdrop (and not the desktop picture associated with Windows 7's desktop). Fusion displays the primary window correctly. Parallels does not and you see grey around the window perimeter (mainly the window corners). artifacting Andrew
Same Problem here, MACPro on OSX 10.6.1. Reducing VRAM to 128 MB makes the effect appear less often, but blank screens still coming up.
Reducing VRAM to 128MB did NOT help... @quad: I reduced the VRAM in the settings to 128MB, as per your recommendation, but this did not help. This bug exists from the beta version. Greetings, -- Robert
We're currently investigating the issue. It is also discused in this thread http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=95528
