I just bought Parallels for Mac at my University Bookstore. It came in a USB stick. I don't know how to run an install though. There is no DMG or disk Image and getting any help from the company has proved very difficult to contact without registering my product which I don't want to do.

The files in the the stick contain .exe, .ico, etc.

Can anyone help me run an installer to install Parallels?

    THanks,
    Tyler

    Tyler,

Unfortunately, I haven't ever seen such Parallels Desktop distribution so I don't yet have anything to advise to you.

Can you make a screenshot of this USB stick contents and post it here?

I took it back to my University Bookstore and they didn't know what was going on either. It is a packaged Parallels student edition. I don't know whats going on. Inside the folders are just random exe and png files.

    Thanks for the help.

By the way, I know that exe is a Windows file extension. Is it possible that they are for a Windows computer? The packaging clearly says Parallels for Mac and has a picture of an iMac with windows running.

    Thanks again.

    Solution

    The solution is either:
a, Return the device to the store you got it from. The device is defective and apparently I was the first one to notice.
B, download the trial from the II website and key in the product key when prompted. This is what I did and it worked. I didn't want to fuss with returning thing. I now have a legi copy plus the USB stick. You may want to alert the place you bought it to contact the company. It is a known issue.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions.
