"file not found" on mapped desktop

    host: OS X 10.6.2
    guest: XP pro 2002 sp3


    Desktop is mapped between host and guest. Files appear and are accessed fine from both sides. Except:
    I use a VBA based translation tool in MS Word (called Wordfast). It use Windows Explorer to navigate to certain files it needs on the desktop. I locate the file, select it and attempt to open it, but then Explorer says: "file not found"

    How come it can see the file in \\.psf\Home\Desktop, but still not "find" it?

    Could you, please, attach a screenshot showing the error message? Can any other programs open the file (using File->Open dialog)?

    Thank you for reply.

    It was a matter of mapping folders to drive letters in the configuration. The VBA thing can only read from drives, not network volumes, it seems. Ticking the mapping box solved it.
