I did a complete disk check before trying to install parallels 4. All permissions OK and no disk structure problem. As soon as parallels 4 finished backing up parallels 3 I got this message: Unable to change the virtual machine permissions. Parallels Desktop cannot set the required permissions for one or more objects in the virtual machine folder. Contact the Parallels support team for assistance. Can't seem to find a way to contact the support team directly, so asking if anyone knows what the error means and how to fix it. I found one post that recommended uninstalling parallels 4 and deleting several files. All this did was remove all knowledge of the .hdd and other files used with parallels 3. Thanks in advance for any ideas or guidance anyone may have. Rick
I installed parallels 5 and then fresh installed Windows 7. Worked fine for a few days, and now I get a message saying: "Parallels Desktop cannot set the required permissions for one or more objects in the virtual machine folder. Contact the Parallels support team for assistance." This happens when I try to resume the paused virtual machine.
