Probably this question has already been posted here but using search did not be successfull because there are lots of threads with activation and upgrade but not specific enough.

If i upgrade from Parallels Desktop 3.0 - with a working Windows XP Home- to 4.0 or 5.0
does this require a new installation of windows XP or a new Activation of Windows XP ?

Thank you very much for answers or links to the answers of this question!

    Hello OttoF,

If you are upgrading from Parallels version 3 to version 5, may be once you may or may not be prompted to activate Windows.

New installation of Windows is not required as you already have one working Windows with version 3.0.

    Thank you.
