is it possible to pre assign a set amount of GB for my virtual hard drive?

instead of specifying 50GB and hacing the disk grow and shrink as needed, can i have it already be allocated for 50GB?

i know vmware does this and was wondering if parallels did too. thanks.

In order to create such hard drive uncheck "Expanding hard disk" on disk addition to virtaul machine. Please note that it will take quite much time from you to create such disk - it's required for disk space preallocation

Yes, this speeds up performance a little. There will no allocations of the FS blocks at application work, and the file is less fragmented.
