Hi. I purchased my first iMac last week together with the Parallels Desptop Switch to Mac Edition which includes a USB cable. I received a pop up saying that I'm free to upgrade from Parallels 4 to Parallels 5. However, is Parallels 5 contains the same "migration" function and compatible with such USB cable, in case I'll need to migrate my whole XP again after the upgade. As I assume the current VM data will be deleted during the upgrade.
    Thank you.

    Hello,

    1. Your virtual machine is not removed during the upgrade. A virtual machine is like "document" for Parallels Desktop. Say, MS Word documents are not removed when you upgrade to next version of MS Office.

    2. Parallels Desktop 5 is compatible with USB cable and Parallels Transporter Agent supplied with Switch to Mac 4 kit. You will be able to use it if you need to perform migration in future.

    Hi Tim.

Thanks for the reply. I successfully upgraded to PD5 without any problem.

    Cheers.
