Since the upgrade to PD5 release, every time I start the VM, I soon get an error about virtual memory being too low.

The VM is running XP SP3 - and there's really not much on this VM other than M$ Streets & Trips (version 2008; transitioning to 2010).

    Any ideas?

Maybe your virtual machine's memory settings are too high? I hear here that 1 GB is best for a Windows 7 virtual machine. On my machine which has a paltry 2 GB built in I've assigned 768 MB to the virtual machine.

I knocked my VM RAM settings down to 512MB - I only use Windows for 1 program which isn't that resource demanding.

I think it did the trick since the virtual RAM setting was already set to a max of 768MB.

ddahle1970, please check KB http://kb.parallels.com/en/4815, it should help. Please ignore first half of Resolution part, since it applies to PD 3, and proceed with the second part.

Thanks for that KB link. I spoke too soon - the error returned. The minimum WAS too small - it was set as 35/768.

I reset the paging file to 768/1536 and it is fine now.
