PaperPort 11 Pro won't work

    Has anyone else tried to use PaperPort 11 on a Parallels Winxp installation on iMac? I can get it to install and open, but it freezes with an hourglass as soon as I try to display a doc, or even to click on the Plus to open a folder list.

    PaperPort is the main reason I got Parallels for my new iMac to begin with. Can anyone assist?

    I had the same setup, no problems, now I have PP Pro 12 and Win 7/64 and again running well.

    What version of Parallels do you have?

    I have PP11 Pro, with the latest update to allow use w/ Vista/Win7, although I'm using WinXPProSP3.

    You just went through a normal installation and had no blips, eh? I wonder what on earth is with my setup... any ideas you have for what to try would be truly appreciated!

    I'm having the same problems with Paperport 11 (11.1.0.306). I can open files but when I delete a file it remains in the Paperport window but not in finder. When I put two PDF's on each other it looks like the merge is okay but the one I moved is deleted and the merge didn't work. I think it has to do with the file management function. Ironically, I did manage to put two PDF's together successfully, but the system went unstable and it wouldn't work anymore. I grabbed a backup clone VM just after the install of Paperport but the problems are the same. Maybe the successful merge was before the latest update of Parallels 5 last week (the testing of Paperport and the update were on the same day, so I'm not sure)

    I'm using Windows XP SP3 with the latest updates, Parallels 5 for Mac build 5.0.9344 rev. 558741 (most recent). Mac OSX 10.6.2. Windows is stable as far as I can see.

    I'm having similar problems with PP 12.1. Loads but then locks up when I try to use it. Any advice from anyone?

    Hello Jim,

    We will address this problem in one of upcoming PD7 update.
    As for now - you can use this boot flag: tools.prl_fs.dirnotify.enable=0:
    1. Go to Parallels Desktop Configuration --> Hardware --> Boot Order and find Boot Flags field:
    2. Copy/paste the following line there:
    tools.prl_fs.dirnotify.enable=0
    3. Save the changes and start your virtual machine.

    Paperport 12 Not working

    Jim, you fixed the problem, works fine now.
    Running windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, with Paperport 12 in Parallels for Desktop 7.

    Paperport 14 Pro will not work

    I tried the fix that was suggested, and it did not work. I have PD7, so apparently this issue was not fixed? Using Windows 7/32 under Lion. Anything else i can try? This is the ONLY application causing me to keep my PC running!

    Paperport 14 Pro / Win XP / Parallels 7

    I installed PP14 in Paralles 7 (with XP)

    There wasn't any error.

    I can start Paperport. It will running for round about one second, then it stops.

    I need help. What i have to do, that paper port will run.

    Paperport 14 Parallels 7 Windows 7 Pro

    New iMac 27 installed Parallels 7 then Windows 7 pro 64bit yesterday
    Installed (with help from tech support) Xerox DocuMate 252 scanner this morning
    All good
    Installed Paperport 14.
    Installs, however as soon as I open up Paperport an error message says "paperport has stopped working" and the following log:

    I was on the phone with nuance tech support for 2 hours. Went through a variety of "fixes" to no avail.
    Support kept commenting that the product wasn't supported for "virtual setups"

    After I hung up with no solutionoffered other than uninstall paperport 14 and unwind all the changes made while trying to troubleshoot the issue, I searched online for BEX issues.

    I set up data execution to not include Paperport. Didn't work.

    I need this software to work, it is an big piece of my business.

    Can anyone please help me if you have a solution?
    I would be very grateful.

    Problem should gone in the recent update (build 15050).
