Hi All, I've been having problems booting to BC, but I can boot into my BC from parallels just fine. If I try to boot into bootcamp, the windows logo doesn't even display, and I just get a black screen. I've managed to Enable Boot logging, so i've posted a copy of that below: Service Pack 211 17 2006 14:59:09.375 Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\hal.dll Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\KDCOM.DLL Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\BOOTVID.dll Loaded driver ACPI.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\WMILIB.SYS Loaded driver pci.sys Loaded driver isapnp.sys Loaded driver ohci1394.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\1394BUS.SYS Loaded driver compbatt.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\BATTC.SYS Loaded driver pciide.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\PCIIDEX.SYS Loaded driver MountMgr.sys Loaded driver ftdisk.sys Loaded driver dmload.sys Loaded driver dmio.sys Loaded driver ACPIEC.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\OPRGHDLR.SYS Loaded driver PartMgr.sys Loaded driver VolSnap.sys Loaded driver atapi.sys Loaded driver disk.sys Loaded driver \WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CLASSPNP.SYS Loaded driver fltMgr.sys Loaded driver SymSnap.sys Loaded driver KSecDD.sys Loaded driver Ntfs.sys Loaded driver NDIS.sys Loaded driver Mup.sys Did not load driver ACPI Multiprocessor PC Did not load driver Audio Codecs Did not load driver Legacy Audio Drivers Did not load driver Media Control Devices Did not load driver Legacy Video Capture Devices Did not load driver Video Codecs Did not load driver WAN Miniport (L2TP) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (IP) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPPOE) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPTP) Did not load driver Packet Scheduler Miniport Did not load driver Packet Scheduler Miniport Did not load driver Direct Parallel Did not load driver Audio Codecs Did not load driver Legacy Audio Drivers Did not load driver Media Control Devices Did not load driver Legacy Video Capture Devices Did not load driver Video Codecs Did not load driver WAN Miniport (L2TP) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (IP) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPPOE) Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPTP) Did not load driver Packet Scheduler Miniport Did not load driver Packet Scheduler Miniport Did not load driver Direct Parallel Did not load driver Intel Processor Did not load driver Intel Processor Did not load driver Microsoft AC Adapter etc, etc -------------------------- I'm thinking about reinstalling the Bootcamp drivers for XP again (inside of Parallels), or perhaps removing and reinstalling Parallels Tools for Windows. Again, i can only do this through Parallels bootcamp, so i'm a little worried about messing the entire installation up. Perhaps anyone is experiencing the same issue? Originally I had v3094, and when I recognized the issue, I upgraded to 3120. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
When directly booting into BC, have you tried doing an F8 and selecting last known good configuration? ajm
That's not going to work, because I boot into BC with Parallels constantly, so the Last Known Good will always default to that profile. I did an F8, which is how I enabled Boot Logging.
A little more info, I believe the problem started because the host OS (OSx) crashed while I was booted into BC Parallels using a USB HD. The USB HD worked fine up until then, but now I can't get it to open in BC Parallels. It detects it as an external device but won't mount it.
I"m having a similiar but oposit issue. Booting directing into BootCamp works fine. Booting into BootCamp via Parallels ends in a black screen. Doesn't change. It does get by the Windows XP splash screen, then sits at a black screen. -ric
