Products: Desktop 5, WinXP, Quicken 2008 I haven't used my quicken product since I upgraded to Desktop 5. I'm not too technical when it comes to virtual machines. It looks like there is a screen refresh every few seconds. It looks like a blink of the xp screen. When I am trying to add transactions to the Quicken register, I see the blink, and the curser goes to the first field, and erases all the typing I entered. If I can get part of a transaction in the register I can save it. I am reduced to entering parts of the transaction, and saving it before the blink. Can anyone explain what is going on?
Similar Issue with MS Access I am seeing the same thing happen with Microsoft Access. Periodically--I'd say every 30 seconds--Access will requery every open query, making everything stop for 10 seconds or more, and re-sorting things for me (thank you very much!). This is frustrating, and only started happening recently--with the 5.0.3944 build, I think. It is making work very very difficult. I have tried switching views, turning on and off automatic pausing when no applications are running, restarting the virtual machine a few times, and nothing seems to help. Any other thoughts?
[SOLVED] I have also experienced this refreshing issue working with Microsoft Access 2007 and Parallels 6 (Build 6.0.12106). I would be editing data in the middle of a very long recordset on a form, and it seemed anywhere between 30 and 60 seconds the form would refresh and bring me back to the top of the recordset. I put MsgBox alerts in the Form.Open, Form.Load and Form.Current events. Sure enough, each time the refresh occurred, the .Current event fired. After fiddling with settings in both MS Access and Parallels, the change which stopped the refreshes was disabling the "Time: Synchronize with Mac" setting in the Parallels VM Configuration dialog (For a selected VM: Configure... > Options > Advanced > Time: Synchronize with Mac) Hope this helps someone!
