How can i enable coherence under Parallels Desktop 5 with Ubuntu 9.10 please? Btw Parallels guys, the graphic effects under Ubuntu with Parallels Desktop 5 are AMAZING! great work.
Thank you Coherence for Linux guest is a whole new feature that needs quite a bit of time to develop. We are closely watching the amount of requests for such feature and may consider it for future upgrades.
You can run your virtual machine in the background and use X on the mac to show your applications in a seamless way. In Ubuntu, you need to enable remote X sessions via XDM. (I've done that in the past with SuSE but I don't recall what the settings where.) If you want to get to the Desktop, you'll need to run X on X and access your Ubuntu VM from there.
Add me to the list as well. I am moving back to Parallels from Fusion and having this feature would be a great addition to the PD feature set.
But as far as I know, Coherence in Linux guests is already a long time request. It has been asked for already since version 2 or 3.
Hi, Parallels and folks. Please add me to the list as well. I'm waiting eagerly for Coherence for Linux guests(especially Ubuntu) Thanks in advance.
I should clarify. Has anyone been able to make the desktop background NOT VISIBLE, as is the case with running windows in coherence, so I can still see my OSX desktop & apps?
How can this even be called coherence mode, if the desktop background is just overlayed on the osx desktop, AND ALL OTHER OSX WINDOWS. This seems more like a pseudo-full-screen mode, not coherence at all! Smells like misleading advertising to call coherence in ubuntu, the same as coherence in Windows7/8. Hmm.
Coherence was actually working with ubuntu 11.?? (either 04 or 10, I don't remember which), but since upgrading to 12.10, I have the same desktop background issue as mentioned in this thread.
