Hi All, I have a Tiger laptop with Parallels installed. I setup a Windows XP image, and joined that image to our Active Directory domain. Now for some reason I can not login to the XP image with a domain user, I get an error that the domain controllers can not be reached. But if I login to that XP image with a local user, I am able to login fine, and I can ping/reach the domain controllers without any issues. Any ideas on this?
Checks your WINS settings. If you can ping it, Try putting a static entry is the LMHOST file of XP. The format is 10.222.222.222 DC-HOSTNAME #PRE #DOMomain-Name Replace my bogus IP with the IP of the server hosting the DC.
Try removing the XP image from the domain (local login only) and then rejoin the domain. We had a problem were XP boxes (actual Dell boxes) were unable to reach our OpenDirectory (not AD) server. Performing the above two-step fixed the problem. Not sure why.
