I just got a new Mac (Core 2 Duo MBP) and it's fantastic. I installed Windows XP in BootCamp and then loaded up Parallels to use that. Coherence worked great the first few times. Today, though, when I started up Parallels, everything looked fine. Clicking on Coherence, however, seems to lock up the Windows system. The Parallels Desktop application hangs and it says "Not Responding". This is repeatable -- I can't seem to enable Coherence anymore. My XP install is clean, all I have installed is FireFox, Steam, Half Life, Natural-Selection, Logitech drivers for my wireless mouse, and an app called "I Hate This Key" to get rid of the windows key while gaming. Thinking the logitech or "I hate this key" stuff might be messing with coherence, I uninstalled them. So, FireFox, Steam, Half Life, and Natural-Selection. Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this?
Good afternoon, I am experiencing the same problem - activating Coherence displays the Windows start menu, etc. along the bottom of the desktop, which promptly ceases to response. As fun as it is to watch the beach ball spin, that's not quite what I am looking for. Interestingly enough, Stevos, apart from the clean install, the only thing that seems to be similar between our systems is the installation of drivers and applications for our wireless Logitech mouse. More interesting still is the fact that (as memory serves) Coherence worked just fine before installing this driver and software. I am trying a few things as we speak: uninstalling the mouse driver, removing all traces of Logitech's SetPoint, and reinstalling the Parallels Tools. I will let you know if I meet with any success. Cheers!
Success! Here are the steps I followed: Uninstall of Logitech software through the Windows Add/Remove programs control panel. Use Spotlight to find any remnants of Logitech's Setpoint. Toss anything you find into the trash. Through the Windows device manager uninstall the mouse driver, no matter what it says. Restart the VM. When the computer has rebooted and you are logged in again, uninstall the Parallels tools. This will require another restart. Reinstall the Parallels tools when the computer has restarted. You may have to restart once more. Enjoy Coherence. I hope that you find the success that I did. Cheers! EDIT: Code correction.
