I have Parallels Desktop v4, upgraded from v3, on my imac .Kaspersky internet security came with Parallels Desktop and it has a problem....antivirus and firewall don't seem to be working....Can anyone suggest a way I can re-install/repair Kaspersky.
I was thinking of upgrading to Parellels v5....would this upgrade reinstall/repair Kaspersky ?...I'm after the easiest way to get Kaspersky working again...

The version supplied with Parallels 5 works but also has issues with networking in Windows 7. It usually works but Windows reports the network is non functional. I had other strangeness that may/may not have been due to Parallels Internet Security by Kaspersky.

Their web site says the 2009 version is not Windows 7 compatible, and they would not let me upgrade to the 2010 version from what they called a "trial" version that comes with Parallels. Ultimately I uninstalled it and am not using Symantec Client, which so far has no issues and seems to use less resources than Kaspersky. You can always download a demo and see if it works for you and your setup.

Ensure you only have 1 antivirus installed, they don't play well together!

Thanks for the reply...but it hasn't solved the problem. If I want to re-install or repair Parallels Internet Security, what do I do?

You should be able to select it from the "Virtual Machine" menu. Should either say "Install Parallels Internet Security" or "Reinstall Parallels Internet Security". If it won't install properly try using the Windows uninstall utility, reboot, then try installing it again. I'd disconnect the computer from the Internet so you don't get a virus in the meantime.

You still may have issues with the Parallels/Kaspersky Internet Security. I could not get it to work to my satisfaction and at least for now gave up and am using Symantec (which I get free from work) instead.
