I just bought a new macbook pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 250GB 5400-rpm hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor, 4GB ram, running OS 10.5.8. I purchased Parallels 5.0 and now I just need to know which version of of Window 7 to purchase -- the 32 bit or the 64 bit. I only use this to remote into my office and very limited work/productivity software like MS Word or Excel.

Lastly, would you recommend the Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate? I'm really a Mac user and not terribly familiar with Windows products.

    Thanks in advance,
    Anne

    Hi Anne,

Between Win 7 Pro or Ultimate, it depends of your needs (compare versions on Microsoft website).

Between 32 & 64-bit: the 64-bit version is a bit more secured than 32-bit one but requires 2 GB of RAM instead of 1 GB for 32-bit version (as recommanded by Microsoft).
So IMHO on 4 GB MBP and for type of work you plan, I would go for 32-bit version.

    Regards,
