I want to set up a single virtual machine which I can then use from either OS X or Windows using the Parallels on each platform.

Question 1: Is the VPC file format the same for both versions of Parallels.
Question 2: I will want to keep the virtual machine on an external USB Hard Disk. The trouble is FAT 32 had an 4GB file limit (my VPC is 8GB) and windows cant read/write HFS+ and OS X cant read/write NTFS. Any Suggestions.

    Thanks

Yes OS X can READ NTFS, it just can't WRITE to it.

Using the Parallels Shared Folders, you can read and write to OS X from Windows without any problems. In order to be truly "parallel" with O.S. Ten and Windows, I wish the Shared Parallels Folder would work on the Mac side too, though. That would be grand.
