    Hello everyone,

I purchased a copy of parallels desktop for mac a few years ago (possibly 2007) and never got around to using it until now. Upon inserting the disk into the drive, however, I realized that my macbook's cd drive doesn't work (I lug it around a lot and rarely use the disk drive, so it probably got busted up somehow without my noticing).

Because of this, I can't install parallels from my cd. I have a serial number though. I was wondering if there was any way to download parallels and activate it with my serial number.

    Thanks :)

I was gonna do that, but there are two things holding me back:

    1. I'm not sure if I own parallels 5. It only says parallels for mac on the box (does that mean it's parallels 4?)
    2. As far as I can tell, those trial versions ask for an activation key, but what I have is a serial number (it's written on a sticker on the cd pouch). I downloaded a parallels 4 .dmg and when it asked for my activation key I wrote the SN and it said it wasn't a valid activation key. Is there any way to activate with a serial number?
