I just installed Parallels 5.0 for Mac on my iMac and imported an existing vm running Windows XP pro. I couldn't get any internet connection although my Mac is connected to a DSL wireless router. I then upgraded the guest OS to Windows 7 pro with the same results.

Another issue is that the mouse cursor is locked into the VM and I can't transfer files back and forth with the host.

Also, I don't have all the view choices. Only Window is operating.

Any help with these issues will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, you need to install Parallels Tools. To do this, click menu "Virtual Machine" -> "Install Parallels Tools". Please carefully read the appeared message box, because you may need to click MyComputer -> CDRom if installation will not start automatically

There should be a message about missing Parallels Tools at the bottom of Parallels Desktop's Window, but it is not very noticeable (

I do have Parallels tools installed. I did that with the creation of the VM. The VM is worthless to me if I can get on the Internet and if I can't use the mouse on both Mac and Windows seamlessly. Any other ideas?

I have been trying all kinds of different things and finally I discovered that there was no network driver installed. I got a network driver installed and now I have internet access. I still have the problem of no seamless mouse capability. Any suggestions on that one?

The mouse starts work seamlessly after tools installation.. it seems that there was some trouble. Did you really install tools after the Windows was installed to VM? I'd suggest to try to reinstall them - http://kb.parallels.com/en/4841
