I'm using Parallels 4.0.3844 on an iMac running Snow Leopard. I'm using Debian as the guest OS. (Latest stable Debian, got confused on names!)

I'd like to share some of the directories on my Debian guest system with my iMac. I'm running nfs-kernel-server and configured /etc/exports the same way I have other Debian systems on my network configured, but I can't see the guest computer from OS X (I don't mean from Parallels, I mean when I click on the Network icon in Finder).

My home LAN is using the 172.16.xxx.xxx address range and my Parallels guest is in the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx address range, so that could be part of it. What do I need to do so I can share my folders in the Linux guest with my OS X host?

Thanks for any help on this!

Have you done any basic connectivity tests e.g. can you ping the VM from OS X?

OK, then try this... with finder open, press <cmd>-k then enter the nfs share you want to mount (nfs://yourvm/export) click connect and see if it will mount.
