    hi,

I'm running my Boot Camp partition as a VM, and everytime I search for a mac app (like system preferences, etc) in spotlight, windows applications come up as the top hit.
I use spotlight to launch apps, son I REALLY want to remove the windows apps from spotlight, or at least force them out of the top hit.

at the same time, I want parallels integrated, just don't with spotify...
And I've added the parallels folder in documents to spotlights privacy list.

You should rather add VM's applications folder in your user's Applications folder to Spotlight privacy list. To find it, go to Finder->Places->Your User Name->Applications, the VM applications folder is there.

ah, thank you very much! that's much better.

there is however another way to fix this.
I had the same problem a few weeks ago, and found a solution (googled it) that removed the win apps from the top hits, but still displayed them in the search results. But after I reinstalled my boot camp, I can't seem to find it again. you guys wouldn't happen to know how to replicate this?
