does the new Parallels Tools include the appropriate drivers, or do you still need to liberate these form a bootcamp drivers disk ?
Works fine in 3150 iSight works great in build 3150 and I now have Mic and camera working in Skype and MSN Good work - just 3D graphics now guys!
Well I was very happy to see iSight support has been added to release 3150. Then my joy turned to sadness. This appears to only work with the new iMac and Macbook that have the built in iSight. Those of us with Mac Mini's and Mac Pro's are still out of luck with our firewire iSights. It seems unless you want to spend a WHOLE lotta money on a new Apple display with built in iSight you are out of luck. We can only hope that at some point Parallels will add the firewire support so we can use our cams.
make sure you have the isight xp drivers installed. if not install them. when the new hardware wizard pops up, manually install the drivers from the location you have saved them to. viola isight in parallels L-Key
that much i got.. but i didnt knwo where to get the isight drivers from... not being or having ever used bootcamp, i didnt realise they came with that..... Cant seem to get it to work in Vista so kinda useless to me after all that heh
Firewire iSight Firewire is a much different technology from USB. Firewire has never been promised, hasn't appeared in the beta and I haven't heard of anyone anywhere saying it was coming.
Sight under Windows Vista Hi. I just upgraded my installation of Parallels to build 3150 to see if I could get my iMac iSight working under Windows Vista Ultimate. The iSight XP boot camp driver is installed, and everything look good in the Device Manager. However, when I try to run the "Windows Live Messenger" "Audio and video setup", selecting the "Built-in iSight", I get the following message: "Windows cannot connect to this webcam. Close any program that may be using this webcam and restart this wizard" That's on a clean install of Vista with only "Parallels Tools" and "AVG Antivirus FREE" installed. Stopping the AV didn't help. Any idea on how I could get that to work?
install the bootcamp application in OSX. Run it, and the first thing you do is create the drivers cd. once this is done you can quit the Bootcamp installer without it making any changes to your system
How did you get iSight to work? I have the same build, 3150, running on Macbook Pro with a Windows Vista VM, but I can't get the internal iSight to work. A message said "Unable to install device". I went to Device>USB>isight, then windows detected a new device and start to search for the driver, and can't find one for isight.
he didnt.... the XP drivers for the iSight that ship with bootcamp, do not work under vista. Googling "isight" "bootcamp" "vista" produces hundreds of posts from people confirming this doesnt work in bootcamp, so its not just a Parallels thing either. You will have to wait for updated drivers for Vista, from Apple.
I had iSight working under Vista in bootcamp. The issue is that the iSight comes up as a USB device. If you manually select the driver you have a choice of USB or iSight and then it works. My issue with Vista under Bootcamp was Audio which stuttered constantly. I gave up in the end and work with XP and Vista under Parallels
