I'm a current VMWare Fusion user, who is investigating whether a move to Parallels would be a good idea, as Fusion is demonstrating some odd behaviours with one or two of my core Windows apps when running in Unity mode. However, I've hit a showstopper already with Parallels, and am wondering if there is some config option that may be required to stop the annoying behaviour I'm seeing, which is detailed below.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate in Coherence mode on a Macbook Pro 15". I have a secondary monitor attached, with my desktop spanned across both. I have a Windows application running in fullscreen mode on the primary monitor, but every 60 seconds or so, this window resizes briefly and then maximizes again, causing a very annoying repaint of the window. Not sure whether this is a red herring or not, but to me it looks to be shrinking by the width of the Windows taskbar before resizing back to its maximized size again. Has anyone here encountered this before, or can offer any clues as to how I can prevent it from happening?

OK, so I started hunting for anyone else who had this problem and may have stumbled on the solution. So while typing this message, I saw it resize the window and I noticed it was the exact size of the Windows Taskbar. So I exited out of Coherence and move the task bar to the left side of the screen and it hasn't happened yet. Only been 15 minutes but...
