    Greetings:

I am using a music and video play back program for music videos and having a heck of a time getting it to work in Parallels. The program is called OTS.

First I am using a USB audio card to play from my mac laptop to my sound system. When I use Megaseg on Mac for music play back it recognizes the USB port fine. When I'm in bootcamp and using the OTS program it recognizes it just fine. But when I'm in Parallels it does not recognize it. Nor does it recognize even my 1/8 jack either. Which is making my program useless unless I can find a work around.

Secondly I am not able to get the video to work on the program as well. Please advise on a resource to fix these. Thanks!

Are you attaching the USB device to the Parallels virtual machine as a USB device (i.e. the USB Controller hardware device in the virtual machine configuration) or are you using the Parallels virtual sound card for sound output (i.e. the Sound hardware device in the virtual machine configuration)?

For video, try changing the Video options. Disable 3D acceleration and maybe even vertical sync.

I'll try that with the audio and see what I get. I know where the 3d part that I can turn off is at, but what is stumping me is how to get anything on my windows side to show up on the second screen. Right now I have my lap top hooked up to my plasma to test it out to simulate the projector. Under bootcamp I have my music video play back program on my lap top and it will show the music videos on the projector/plasma. I can't figure out how to get it connected using parallels to do that.

For the sound I'm not using either, I just plug in the USB device and I hear a beep and then nothing happens and I'm not sure where to look. When I look on the mac config that is obviously not what I'm looking for but I'm not sure where to go to setup the audio in Parallels, have not found that yet.

Also should I be working in coherence mode or another mode to do all of this. Thanks!

For the video, you could try the following option:
Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Options -> Full Screen -> Use all displays in full screen.

Then use View -> Full Screen mode.

Use Window mode while setting up the USB. Check you virtual machine configuration. Does it have a USB controller?
Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware.
If not, then press the + button to add a USB controller.

With the virtual machine running and the sound device unplugged, plug the USB sound device directly into the computer. Don't use a hub. Does Parallels ask you if you want to attach the USB device to the virtual machine?

    Check the Parallels USB preferences:
Parallels Desktop -> Preferences -> USB. Make sure "Ask me what to do" is enabled.

If you can't get the Parallels USB option to work then try the Sound option. First make sure you can output sound to the device using something like iTunes. Then, configure the Parallels sound device.
Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware -> Sound.

Thanks for writing back. Will have to work on the sound issue tomorrow but I am trying to fix the video option tonight. I did what you said and that doesn't seem to be fixing my problem. Currently I can't get it to stop showing my mac background on my plasma TV and my Video Playback program keeps saying Specified Display Head Not Found. I would say it is a program issue I need to fix, but I can't even get my windows back ground to show up on the screen. If I could do that I'm sure I could fix my program. Please help as I Saturday is my last chance to use this before my trial expires.

Are you using "Full Screen" mode with the "Use all displays in full screen" option enabled? Take a screen shot using Command-Shift-3. Windows should take over your first screen and the 2nd screen. Also take a screen shot of the Displays preferences panel - the Arrangement tab.

Is the Video RAM setting set to 256 MB?
