I recently installed parallels on my macbook pro with Windows XPSP2. I am trying to connect via usb to my new Canon Pixma ip90 printer. The only way I have been able to print is by turning on printer sharing in OSX and then using bonjour within Windows to add the Pixma as a Generic Postscript printer. However the print quality is really poor when I do this.
I have tried to install the ip90 print driver from the CDROM within windows but when installing I get to the point where it tells me to plug in the printer and does not detect the usb connection. When I try to tell it a manual location there are no USB choices - just COM1-4 etc.
The computer does see the printer locally via USB in the print window (ip90) but when I try to print to it I get a connection not found error. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can print to my pixma through canon drivers so that I can get decent print quality? Thanks in advance.

What version of Parallels are you running?

    (i.e. 1970, 3150, etc.)

Parallels Build for Canon ip90 Printing

I am running the vary latest build-I downloaded from parallels two weeks ago and have updated it. The only specification I know is 1970. Thanks.

    Please read this thread

There is a Beta Version (RC3150) which handles USB support better. Be advised to backup your VM before trying it and be sure to read all the release notes. And expect bugs.
