Hi, I encountered some issues with third party software under Parallels desktop. The application requires a license file with a serial number depending on the MAC address of the first network adapter. I installed Windows XP on the Bootcamp partition and everything works fine if I natively boot Windows. Under Parallels desktop, however, the application does not start. I manually adjusted the MAC address of the Parallels ethernet adapter to match the one of the local ethernet adapter that is encoded in the license file. When launching the application, I get the following output in the log file: 21:11:51.776 W /hid:201:6c0f/ [CHIDMacHook] Unknown Event Type 140 21:11:56.994 W /hid:201:6c0f/ [CHIDMacHook] Unknown Event Type 140 This unknown event usually appears twice. I assume CHIDMacHook stands for "change id mac hook"? Is there any way to resolve this problem? What is event type 140? Thanks!
I am also experiencing this, except I am having a problem with a USB License Key which keeps failing at around 24 hours after I physically plug it in. Parallels still shows that it is connected to the VM, but the device does not respond to the guest OS, and the light that lights on the USB license key does not turn on. Physically unplugging it and then replugging it back in again resolves it for around another day. I am running the latest version of Parallels 4, the guest OS is Windows Server 2003. My event type is Unknown Event Type 176.
