I've got Parallels 6 running on my Mac Book without problem (with Windows XP). There are times where it might make more sense for me to just boot up in Windows, so I'm thinking about installing Boot Camp as well. If I do that, do the programs that I've already installed in the virtual machine automatically appear when I boot up in Windows? Are there any other concerns or problems about having both Boot Camp and virtual Windows XP?

Is it possible to install Bootcamp AFTER Parallels?

Randall, if you've gone ahead with your Bootcamp install, I'd like to hear the details.

I have Parallels 6.0 running on Macbook Pro 15" 2.66Ghz Core i7 8GB Ram with Win7 Home Premium. Like you, I would now like to install Bootcamp, but have only seen instructions for putting in Parallels AFTER Bootcamp. I do not want to install Windows twice, and would rather not destroy my current setup.

Anyone got a clue how to do this? Thanks in advance!

Hey Arthur, I too am wondering. If I can only run windows on one or the other I am going to try boot camp because I need better performance than I am getting. Mac book pro Intel 2.53 4gb Ram. win 7 . What does your 8gb ram machine run like on parallels. I have 5 and will no way be updating in the next several years. 9 will probably be out before fourth of July the way they go at it! My windows is extremely inadequate. Hope this doesn't get censored as this forum is all happy talk as I can see. Let me know please. Thank you.

    The more memory the better

renewme, When it comes to any VM, the more memory the better. Speed I'm getting is middling -- you really have to fiddle with the standard settings and give windows more processors and memory to make it tick. My bigger problem is loading data onto Quicken -- I've heard others speak about this and have yet to come across a solution. Anyhow, you are not missing much if you're still with 5.0
