Hardware. New IMac with snow leopard. 12 GB of Ram.

    Software. parallels 6. Windows 7.

What are the pros and cons of installing a VM using a Bootcamp partition? Is it faster and more stable?.

Or should I create a VM with Paralles without a Bootcamp partition?

    Thanks.

I've chosen to keep a separate VM instead of using my BootCamp Windows installation.

I actually have both (My Boot Camp and my other VM) configured for use, but felt more comfortable staying away from my bootcamp install for day to day use.

With the Boot Camp partition, you are more limited, in a way, do to how it was setup on the Mac (partition size..ect). With a separate VM, you don't have to worry about Parallels messing up your BootCamp installation, and the VM itself is more flexible.. and easier to recover/backup if you have problems.
