I have Parallels 6 running Windows 7 on my i-mac. The file Windows7.pvm is located on an external drive which I now want to use as a Time Capsule. How can I re-locate my VM to the on-board drive (I have too much stuff to do a new VM installation)?

Have you tried simply dragging and dropping it onto the system drive? Then open Parallels and choose File/Open. When the VM starts up, it will tell you that the VM has a MAC address conflict.. but it just thinks you are opening a new VM. The "new" VM will now show up in your list of virtual machines, and it should boot up just fine.

I'm not sure if this method is the best, but it worked for me when I created a copy of my VM. I put the copy in a "secure" location, and, despite it being an exact duplicate of my XP VM, it booted up just fine and now shows up in my list of VMs.
