This is the 2nd update that caused my parallel tools to become screwed up after I restart. Are there any fixes for this? The last time I had to reinstall the host and I do not want to do it again. Thanks!
Please add me to the list, too Add me to the list, please, of folks that have problems re-installing the Parallels Tools. I just took the upgrade to Build 6.0.11994 from Feb-17 and now I cannot get any of my windows guests to install the Parallel Tools. I have both a Win XP and a Win7 client with current service packs. They boot up, attempt to do the installation and fail which forces a reboot. Upon reboot, I cancel the installation, which leaves a box indicating that the Windows installer is not available and forces a reboot. The box says: Parallels Tools Installation An error occurred while installing Parallel Tools Click OK to restart your virtual machine, and then try to install Parallel Tools again. (You can only click OK which reboots; any attempt to cancel the box also forces a reboot) At no time can I get the "START" menu to respond so that I can either: a) find and remove any existing installations of Parallel Tools b) get the automatic installation of Parallel Tools out of the system startup. Unfortunately neither client is in bootcamp, so I cannot bypass Parallels to do either a) or b) above or look at the registry, etc. No go with trying to start up in Safe Mode either. Until the upgrade for Parallels was installed this afternoon, both virtual clients were working just fine. What possible solution is there to *REMOVE* that auto-magic reboot that the Parallel Tools is forcing on the clients so that I can at least get either VM to respond and be repaired.
Add my voice to this issue, too. I'm unable to manually remove Parallels Tools, and the automatic Parallels Tools updater fails and forces a reboot. Is there no fix for this?
Hi, Seems the issue requires Paralells Support attention. Please submit a support request: http://www.parallels.com/support/request/
