I recently bought a macbook pro and for the first week I didn't have any problem connecting to the internet using wifi. Yesterday afternoon I installed parallels and windows 7 and both worked fine until last night when I installed kesperski anti-virus. Shortly after that I discovered that I found that I could get a connection in windows but not osx. I can do osx updates but I can't go to any sites and the network dia says it isn't connected to the internet. I have other computers running fine on the network (including windows 7 on the mac) so that isn't the problem. I have discovered that when I reset the network I can connected on osx for about 5 mins and thats it. I have rolled back some drivers I installed in windows 7 and also deleted kesperski but it still hasn't fixed the problem... and the network in parallels is set to shared. Any ideas?
bump! Exactly the same problem! I recently upgraded my parallels to 6.0.11994 from 5 and windows to 7 from xp. And when I try to browse in OSX, the web page won't load and the error message is related to DNS (I couldn't remember the long trouble shooting procedures provided by chrome). Although not sure if it's because of Kaspersky, I did install it before noticing this problem, which persists after the uninstallation. I normally use wifi and the 3G network from iphone to browse and the problem applies to both. One more observation. I set to run parallels automatically when booting into the OSX and then I only have internet in Win 7, not in OSX. But if I quit the parallels, the internet will come back to OSX, sometimes I need to turn off and back on the airport to get that. In general, very simple. I googled around and found some thread talking about to run "route delete 0.0.0.0" in windows command processor as the administrator as a solution. I tried and found now I don't need to quit parallels anymore. Refresh the network will do the job. However, I need to run this command every time I turn on the computer. Appreciate if someone can shed some light.
After a bit more digging, I found this misfunction happens more when I use 3g network through iphone. And the route delete trick only works when you do it with an unconnected fresh windows, meaning hasn't been connected since the boot-up. The thing is I don't know how to configure DNS with iphone. The networking panel in OSX doesn't have any options for this type of connection. anybody can help or how can I elevate this to the parallels team?
