When I run Vista in Parallels it routinely takes up to 70% of the CPU (according to the Mac Activity Monitor)--even when I'm not running anything in Vista, and am only working in the Mac OS, Vista continually takes 70% of CPU. Sometimes it takes more and eventually, Vista just freezes up. I don't have this problem with Win XP (it runs around 20-30% CPU utilization when idle).

I read in another post, that DECREASING the amount of RAM to the VM could help, so I'll try that. Any other suggestions?

    thanks

When Vista boots up I see the same thing there is no way around it Vista is a memory hog. Reduce your RAM to no more than 920K that should help.
