    Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible either through parallels or other windows software to get Internet working with an ip thats on my routers network. I would like to be able to do this so I can back up the windows portion with a NAS.

Parallels does a NAT to get Internet to work on the virtual machine.
    The configuration is
    IP: 10.211.55.4 /24
    gateway: 10.211.55.1

    When I need
    IP: 192.168.1.x /24
    gateway: 192.168.1.254

When I try to statically assign the former setup, I get no communication the WAN or LAN.

You need to try to change network type from Shared to Bridged to default. Then if IP address is not assigned automatically, try assign static IP IP: 192.168.1.x/24 gateway 192.168.1.254 (while in Bridged)

If I correctly understand, BobbyR means exactly this
