Hi, hope someone can help me. I have parallels 6.0.12090, fresh windows 7 install, mac osx 10.6.7, macbook 2,1

internet works just fine via the mac side, but i can't connect through parallels.

parallels says network adapter, shared network, connected

windows says windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.....you will need to reinstall the driver

    what do i do now?

    Hi,

Make sure that VM is in Shared Networking mode. Then click Start -> Run and execute cmd.exe. Maximize the window. Type in the appeared window command "ipconfig /all". Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem", send a problem report (it is not necessary to provide description) and post here the report ID.

    reinstalling tools did it, actually

Like someone else who'd posted a similar problem, it turns out that there was a problem with the parallels tools installation that was causing the problem (and with sound and other things). i know i'd done the install when i upgraded parallels to ver 6, but maybe installing new windows (there was a problem with my earlier install of win7, so i thought i'd try a clean install to see if that would fix it) wiped out the tools.

anyway, someone at some point on these boards suggested going (thru windows) to add/remove software and remove than reinstall parallels tools. but when i went there, tools was nowhere to be found. (same thing another poster discovered). installing tools at this point solved everything. since i'm not the first to find this problem or solution, it might be worth others trying it before getting too frustrated.

No network driver installed under parallels desktop 6

I have a fresh installed MacBook Pro with a fresh installed Windows 7 32Bit on a boot camp partition. I installed parallels desktop 6 but got no network connection. In the device manager windows says that the device driver for the network adapter is not installed.

I removed parallels tools and reinstalled parallels tools. I moved from shared mode to bridged mode and back but windows does not detect the network driver.

    Any ideas?

    Try this...

Coincidentally I have just loaded parallels 6 today as well onto my new Macbook Pro (2011 version) and got the same problem with the intel driver. After a bit of experimenting have finally got this to work by re-installing the intel chipset drivers.

I am new to Mac OSX so please take this info as a suggestion and not expert advice.

I am using 64Bit Windows 7 but I guess should work on 32 bit.

**Please note: Also I imported the Boot Camp image prior to trying this, and performed the changes on this virtual image to make sure I did not mess up the actual installation of windows 7 on the Boot Camp partition.

You will need the Mac OSX installation disk or the files that you downloaded to create your bootcamp installation.
Here are detailed instructions if needed...

    1. Start up the Imported Windows 7 VM
    2. Open up the device manager (right click and select 'manage' from 'my computer)
    3. Find the problem Intel network device driver and de-install it
    4. Run setup.exe from D:\Boot Camp\Drivers\Intel\Chipset to re-install the intel chipset drivers (where D: is your DVD or USB drive containing the bootcamp files)
    5. Reboot as required
    6. Use shared networking if you plan to use the macbook and windows 7 internet at the same time (I found that setting up a bridged airport meant you could no longer use airport for OSX at the same time. In the case of Bridged default adapter, I found I got IP address conflicts if as I guess both 'machines' contend for the same IP??). If anyone knows any different - please share...

should start working, and not encountered any more problem so far. hope this helps

Hi, you need to install Parallels Tools. There is a tip about it at the bottom of the Parallels Desktop window, but it is really hard to notice it :-(

    Disc required?

Hey, Eric. Thanx. Whenever I attempt to install parallel tools, I get a message about install discs. I downloaded parallels, so I have no idea how to deal with this. Also, while I've got you: occasionally, when I start parallels, it asks me to install a new 6.xx "build". Is this an update or is it a new install? If I proceed with the recommended build, will it Solve the "required discs" problem? Again, thanx. Best, Lorenzo

Hm. Could you please send a problem-report as soon as you get this message and post here it's id? It's not my field, so I need this..

It is an update. I'd suggest to download and install it. Yes, it can fix the problem with "require disk"

    Hi,
first of all try to upgrade the Parallels Desktop to the latest version. The version you are running - 6.0.11820 was realease before lion and doesn't support it. The latest version can be downloaded at http://www.parallels.com/ru/download/desktop/ (don't forget to select language that matches your license)
