I have prl_disp_service using up 100% of my CPU. The thing is I don't have Parallels installed in this computer anymore. I've tried running the uninstaller and it confirms that it is not installed, however the prl_disp_service is still there. How can I manually remove it?

    hey dude -

i got the same problem here. i first i tried the uninstaller out of an parallels update dmg, but the problem does not vanish. then i tried the uninstaller from the 4.0 prl installer dmg and the fixed my problem.

    hope that can help...

Try force quitting the service in Activity Monitor before you run the uninstaller. There is a Terminal command to force delete files even in the root directory (this service is running as root).. but you should try the first method before hitting the Terminal.

The service is located in the HD/Library/Parallels directory.
