dont you think that upgrade rates that are more than half the price of new installed is too much? should they cut a bit more from it so that everyone can save some money out of it?
I find it's cheaper to buy a new version of Parallels than to upgrade. For example, in the US you can buy Parallels 6 today at Amazon.com for $45 and get a free upgrade to Parallels 7. That's cheaper than upgrading your existing product.
