I had to completely re-install by Windows XP bootcamp partition. I created a new VM in parallels using the bootcamp partition and now when I bring up the VM I get the windows black screen stating:

"Boot from hard drive... No boot device found. Hit Enter to continue."

Looks like it cannot find the bootcamp partition even though it works just fine when booting into it natively. Anyone have any ideas?

Did the re-installation of XP screw up the Bootcamp partitioning possibly? Any workarounds?

A little more information. This is not related to the problem with recognizing the CDROM drive, this is the parallels software not recognizing the bootcamp partition and already installed and working XP installation.

Doesn't seem like anyone has encountered this?

    Under Parallels configuration
Check you boot sequence and make sure your Hard disk 1 is trying to connect to IDE 0:0

I did, here's an excerpt from the VM configuration file:

    [IDE devices]
    Disk 0:0 enabled = 1
    Disk 0:0 = 1
    Disk 0:0 media = 1
    Disk 0:0 connected = 1
Disk 0:0 image = Boot Camp
    Disk 0:0 cylinders = 0
    Disk 0:0 heads = 0
    Disk 0:0 sectors = 0

I also tried to specify the exact partition that XP is installed on to no avail:

    [IDE devices]
    Disk 0:0 enabled = 1
    Disk 0:0 = 1
    Disk 0:0 media = 1
    Disk 0:0 connected = 1
    Disk 0:0 image = Boot Camp; disk0s2
    Disk 0:0 cylinders = 0
    Disk 0:0 heads = 0
    Disk 0:0 sectors = 0
