Upgrade To Mac OS lion and Latest Parallel Desktop

Hi,

My company was trying to upgrade the current Mac OS to Mac OS lion and Upgrade the PD4 to latest Parallel Desktop.

But there are few issues that concern me:

1) Should I upgrade my OS first or Upgrade PD4 to PD7 first?

2) What?How should I backup from PD4 before Upgrade to PD7? because I have windowsXP and running in the Virtual Machine.

3) after upgrade to PD7, can i restore back the back up VM from PD4?

1) Upgrade to PD7 first
2) Backup everything using Time Machine
3) You shouldn't need to restore your VMs. Everything should work fine.

 

1) currently My OS is 10.6.2. any issue in upgrading to lion?
2) Is PD7 compatible with lion without bugs / errors?
3)beside backup using time machine, can i do it manually by copying the pvm only to another souce?

Unless I have miss-read the PD7 literature, you cannot upgrade to PD7 from versions 4 and below.

I believe upgrade is only valid from versions 5 and 6.

Reading your first posting it looks like you intend to upgrade to PD7 from PD4. If I have read you correctly, I understand that will not work. If you have PD4, and you want to upgrade tp PD7, I understand that you will need to buy the full package.

Hi James,

I have this windows XP.pvm file in PD4. If i install the full package of PD7, can i still using this windows XP.pvm file that i manually copy and back up at another source?
