I have a Samsung SCX-4100 multi-function laser printer working under OSX (well only the printing function that is). Only the scanning software is available for XP so I use Parallels to run XP on my MacBook. Using the latest Parallels beta 3170, I am unable to connect the SCX-4100 for XP to see. I keep on getting the message that the " USB device you are trying to connect to the virtual machine is being used by another application. Close that application or unplug the device and plug it again. Then try to connect the device again." This is weird because I don't have any programs accessing the printer at all. I really want to get scanning functionality working, any suggestions?
Hi... How did you get the SCX-4100 to even print on OSX? I couldn't find a Mac driver... Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Oh the OSX driver can be found here: http://www.de-minimis.co.uk/projects/Samsung_SCX-4100_cum_MacOSX/index.html As for XP under Parallels, I managed to get the SCX-4100 and my external USB 2.0 Hard Drive working using the latest RC (3170).
Sure no problem. If you have Parallels be sure to try the latest RC (version 3170) because I can finally setup the SCX-4100 under XP to use its scanning function.
