Why is it that deleting a snapshot in WinXP Pro takes so long and is so resource intensive? I have an iMac 27" (2.8 GHz core 2 duo) running Parallels 6. Whenever it's time to delete a snapshot, it easily takes over 30 minutes and my iMac is so slow and unresponsive during the deletion that it is effectively unusable. The fans go on high speed and I have to go walk the dog or something.

Any ideas or suggestions for speeding up the process or making it truly run in the background so that I can still use the iMac for other work?

I see that my posting has been viewed 85 times, but no one has any suggestions. My latest snapshot took an hour to delete and slowed my Mac OS to a crawl. I guess my only option is to turn off the snapshots and take the risk...

You have my sympathy. I've just upgraded to version 7 and am having the same issue. It's just like watching grass grow ...
