    i have an i-mac,core2duo.
    i just downloaded parallels.
i DO NOT have a windows program
and all the stores are closed.

    is there some website somewhere
that sells it as a download,or is this not possible.

i don't even care if its vista, just something to download
    so i can get going.

    any ideas?....................1pauper1

If you are in a university there is a program through Microsoft called MSDNAA that will let you download Windows XP (legally) through the school, using a site liscense.

My school requires one to be a school of engineering student to do this, however I have heard that other universities do not have this requirement.

This is the only legal way that I know of to get XP through the internet.

Be wary of the not-so-legal copies. Some of them come pre-hacked, and pre-root-kitted. I played with a few of them during my internship two summers ago at a not-going-to-be-named-due-to-NDA security company...

If you want to play... you can get MANY linux's for free. They can be fun :) I think there are some pre-built images being distributed at the top of the forums.

    hey catwink,
seems too cheap to be true,
can ya trust sites like these,
i like to avoid trouble, i dont
see how 50 bucks could even
    purchase an activation code.

anybody else out there have any
luck with these type of sites.
    registration,activation codes
would be my concern--i'm not a student or
    teacher,

    have you used them yourself?

    thanks catwink..;) .........1pauper1

No you can't trust those. They're illegal pirated copies. If you're going to go that route you might as well not pay for it at all.
