I've never had trouble creating virtual machines before, however I'm trying to create a VM now with 3150, and I can't get passed the SP2 upgrade. It crashes, tries to back out, fails and then I just get blue screens when I try to load the Windows in the VM.

The target for this VM is a Mac Pro, so I can't use 1970 (which doesn't appear to be compatible with the Mac Pro).

I've been at this for hours without success. Here's what I'm now planning to do.

    1) On a Mac Mini, create the Virtual Machine with 1970.
    2) Try to apply SP2 and get things stable.
    3) Do the upgrade from 1970 to 3150 on the Mini.
    4) Move the VM to the Mac Pro and run it with 3150.

    Should this work?

    Any ideas or thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Greg

I would suggest skiping the install of 1970. Just go right to installing 3150.

I'd agree.. with one footnote.. make sure you are fully aware you will be using BETA software and all that that implies.

XP SP2 install kills the XP instance on the 3188 build

I downloaded the version from parallels.com on March 10, which I presume is 3188 (my macbook is at home), and WinXP installs fine. However, when I get to SP2 update, I get exactly the same error that Gregz99jlk4 reported in this thread. My entire XP installation will have to be wiped out when that happens.

I have the black macbook with 2GB of RAM.
I don't believe I have the beta version. Are there known problems with the 3188 build? Any help is appreciated because I have wasted a good amount of time reinstalling already. Thanks!
