    Hi

I am using the latest build of Parallels (3188) under OSX 10.4.9 running XP Professional 2002 service pack 2.

I am trying to connect to the internet directly from XP via a USB modem. For my specific application, connecting via the Mac and sharing that connection is not an option.

Question: Has anyone successfully connected to the internet from XP directly via a USB modem. If yes, I would appreciate any comments on your modem model, configuration etc.

I have tried this with three different modems, including a serial modem via keyspan. In all cases I get dial tones and dialup, but the negotiation ends with a lot of static and the connection fails. This seems common to many of the similar posts here.

If it is not possible to do this, then fine, I'll give up trying. But if it is, I'd really like to know how.

    Thanks and regards

I keep trying without success. Best luck I had was with a bluetooth modem connecting using Apple bluetooth.
