Ever since you first released shared folders features in parallels i've had problems. Every time I open a shared folder, windows explorer crashes and restarts.

running rc2 and xp sp2 with all updates.

Yes, This just started happening to me in RC2 also

Though i can get in a ways then it crashes

also noticed that it seems to take an image of the files at the time of the dbl-click on shared folders.
because I added a file to mac side folder after and it wouldn't show up

    Try to reinstall

This happened on me too in beta 6 and rc1. But after I reinstalled the tool and reset the sharefolder, it worked fine. In RC2 it also works. So try to redo these and you may solve this problem.

Yeah, i've been having this problem since b5 running XP. I have been keeping my tools updated upon each release. RC2 seems to have improved but is still problematic. It works fine for basic browsing but when i hit certain folders containing hundreds of subfolders it does not seem to like this and explorer crashes.

When browsing from within certain applications (tag and rename) which has an embedded file explorer I get application errors on these folders like: Access Violation at address HHHHHHHH Read of address HHHHHHHHH.

    Ok,

I was hoping not to have to do that...

    Here is what I did:

    1. Closed all open items under Guest (XPpro)
    2. Did a Add/Remove of Parallel Tools
    3. Did the Restart of Guest and after XP was back up, I down the Guest
    4. I then went into The Profile and removed the Shared definition and created a single folder on Mac called "XPTransfer"
    5. I then saved the profile
    6. Started the VM (Tiny Screen now ;-)
    7. Re-Installed Parallel Tools.

All seems to be fine now. I added bunch of image files from mac, opened it under XP and deleted them. No Crash.

Just wish i didnt have to do that

The solution to get it to work is to go into Windows Explorer, then to the Tools -> Folder Options. Then, on the General Tab in the Tasks section, Check "Use Windows classic folders"

That will make it not crash.

BenInBlack: Reinstalling the tools did not work for me, but classic folders did.

This also happens sometimes in VMWare as well... I'm not sure what causes it, but it is annoying as hell :)

    Nope

    MacBookPro, Parallels Desktop, XP SP2.

Set Classis, re-installed VM tools, reset which folder is shared.

Nope, nada, shared folders still doesn't work. Never has for me.

I've followed every suggestion in the forums so far, since B4.

    More suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Earl
