I have tried to drag a file from Windows XP Pro (under Paralles) and it does not work. I put the file in the shared folder and the same, doesn't work. Any ideas? I'm new to the Mac so I mioght be missing something.

To use drag-and-drop functionality you need have Patallels Tools installed. To fix the problem please do the folowing:

    1. Make sure you are using latest version of Parallels Desktop application.
    2. Launch your Windows XP Pro VM.
    3. Open Add/Remove programs control panel in Windows and remove Parallels Tools if present.
    4. Reboot Windows.
    5. Install Parallels Tools using "Install Parallels Tools.." menu item in the Action menu of the Parallels Desktop application.
    6. Reboot Windows.

    That's all.

I have the correct version of Parallel Tools installed and haven't been able to get Drag 'n Drop to work in either direction either. This is with both my VM and Boot Camp VM.

I have created shared drives and set them to Global (does this have any effect?)

I have the Drag option enabled in Parallel Tools.

Thanks for your help. I'll try this tonight. Do I have to setup a shared folder again?

Have you tried re-installing as suggested though? Sometimes it will iron out the hitch.

Reinstalling didn't do diddly... If I try and drag a PDF file from my OS X Desktop to my XP Desktop XP becomes really bogged down (by ParallelsToolsCenter) and I'm attempting to Shut Down XP but it may have hung.. even though the mouse/cursor is moving (it's been 8 to 10 minutes).

I had to force quit ParallelsToolsCenter to be able to shut down XP.
