I have upgraded to the 3188 build of Parallels. When I start the VM it says the tools are out of date and to ugrade them. When I try and upgrade I get an error 6001 saying close other running progs and make sure you are connected to the internet. I can't remove the tools using the control panel. Any ideas?
I had this problem as well and *finally* solved it by deleting the Installshield folder, which is in Program Files > Common Programs directory on your C drive. As soon as that was gone, I was able to update to the newest version of Parallels Tools.
