I have a weird problem - In Parallels Desktop 7 I try for the first time to install windows 7 (actually any guest os).

when it gets to the stage of requiring input from me (say the dialog asking for Time and currency format) I click it and the dropbox opens but then I can no longer select anything else - Mouse clicks to not work and I cannot get to the next screen! Keyboard does not appear to work.

I have guest OS (including Windows 7) created in previous versions of parallels desktop (I have upgraded right back from about 3 each time a new version is released) and they upgraded and work fine, it's all when install a new guest oS.

I have a new iMac 27" with 16GB Drive, tons of hard drive space, etc.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Tim,

Which exactly build do you use? go to Parallels Desktop -> About Parallels Desktop to get this info

Did you try to create answer file and connect the flash drive with it to the virtual machine?

You can also try to create Virtual Machine without a disk and connect Windows installation CD afterwards, start Windows and try again.

If it doesn't work i suggest you to contact technical support so that they can connect to your computer and investigate in place (www.parallels.com/support/)

I have created a technical support ticket and created the file they need and attached to the support ticket.

No response yet. Frustrating I have to say :(

Hopefully I get a response soon.

Thanks for posting a reply here :)

I should say the reply should arrive within 24 hours - it is ETA for Parallels Desktop support tickets, so, don't worry about that.

Please tell me your ticket number so i would be able to monitor it

The id of the ticked it 1259222

I put it in 4 days ago, and it seems it has been marked as resolved, although no text has been sent to me. Can you please take a look and let me know why it was marked as resolved? It's possible I may have done it accidentally, but I do no recall doing that.

In any event I have replied on the ticket confirming that it is an issue still.

    Many thanks

    Tim

    Hello Tim,

Every time you send a reply to the email ticket reopens. Engineer marks ticket resolved after the solution he believes may help you. If it doesn't just send an email back. Tell them you need a remote session so that they can take a look in place, it is faster and avoids misunderstanding.
